Nokia X6 to Give a Tough Time to Snapdragon 636 Powered Devices in India

HMD Global was initially wary of the notch design when it released its Nokia phones previously, but now it seems that the Finnish brand has also finally given in to the iPhone X-like design. We are talking about the Nokia X6 which has been recently unveiled in China. The X6 which will make its debut exclusively in China, for now, is going to be the first phone by Nokia to sport the notch design. Also, the presence of the Snapdragon 636 SoC in this phone is going to keep it in competition with the Redmi Note 5 Pro when it comes to India. Although there has been no declaration as to whether or not the Indian market will see the launch of the X6, but given that India is an important territory for HMD Global, the phone is definitely expected to launch here. If it comes here, the phone is bound to get down to direct competition with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. Below we have detailed the features which are going to give the Nokia X6 an edge over the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Design and Display
The Nokia X6 sports a glass finish through and through along with the Gorilla Glass 3 which alongside giving it a premium finish will also act as protection for the screen. The notch design on the 18:9 aspect ratio screen also adds to the aesthetics of the phone.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro, on the other hand, has a slightly taller form factor with the screen measuring 5.99-inch compared to the 5.8-inch in Nokia X6. The Redmi Note 5 Pro uses a design which is somewhat dated. However, the use of metal does give it a hint of durability.

Hardware and Software

Both the phones sport the Snapdragon 636 which means they both pack immense performance potential and will deliver fast and efficient performance to the users.

In the imaging department, the Nokia X6 is bound to feel some solid competition since the Redmi Note 5 Pro sports one of the best cameras in this price range currently and given that Nokia 6 (2018) have had a mediocre camera setup, the Nokia X6 might really get left behind in this regard.

Despite sporting Xiaomi’s heavy MIUI skin, the Redmi Note 5 Pro manages to deliver very smooth performance over Android Nougat 7.1.1. However, the Nokia X6 comes with a clean stock Android 8.1 Oreo experience. If this phone releases in India it is like to be an Android One phone with the guarantee of monthly security updates and the latest Android P.

Cameras and Battery
The Nokia X6 sports a dual camera setup with the primary sensor being a 16MP one and the secondary sensor being a 5MP one. The phone will also be able to shoot in bokeh mode, along with manual settings of ISO, white balance and aperture. On the front, there is a 16MP sensor. There are also AI enhancements on the phone which will make the images look better.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro on the other hand also clicks some amazing photos owing to its 12MP+5MP rear dual camera setup and the 20MP front camera with LED flash.

The battery on the Nokia X6 is not an impressive one with just 3060mAh worth of power. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro packs a significantly higher 4000mAh of battery.

Given all the above details it can be easily said that the Nokia X6 is a far better competitor to the Redmi Note 5 Pro in comparison to the Nokia 6 (2018). Although there are no confirmations from HMD Global right now, we can only hope that the phone might come to the Indian markets soon.
