Nokia has made changes in the Indian leadership by appointing Sanjay Malik as the new head of India market. Malik is replacing Sandeep Girotra, who has been promoted to become the Head of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) market for the company.
Malik’s appointment will be effective from August 1, 2016. In his new role, he will lead customer operations, drive the business growth strategy and superior customer engagement services for the India market. He will be based in Gurgaon.

Sanjay is well acquainted with the Indian telecommunication industry and is a dynamic business leader with a proven track record of leading growth, turnarounds, customer management, value selling, large multi-cultural organization development and delivering performance,” Ashish Chowdhary, Chief Customer Operations Officer at Nokia, said in a statement.
Malik, who joined Nokia in 2000, is currently Head of Network Implementation (NI) at Nokia Global Services and is credited with efficiently driving growth and delivering strong performance both in terms of revenue and operational efficiency. Previously, Malik was heading Bharti GCBT (Global CBT), where he led the transformation of the business by enhancing customer satisfaction, market share and business results across India and Africa.
Girotra has been heading the Indian market since 2011.
