Most Nokia phones have been upgraded to Android 9 Pie software. In fact, HMD Global is one of the very few companies that have updated almost all its phones to the latest Android software from Google. The new additions to the list are the Nokia 6 (2017) and Nokia 8. Both the Nokia 6 (2017) and Nokia 8 aren't very new devices, but as the track record goes like for HMD Global, it never forgets the old phones due to the new ones. From Nougat to Pie the journey has been a splendid one for the Nokia 6 (2017). On the rear panel, the phone includes a 16MP camera while on the front the phone includes an 8MP camera for selfies. On the software front, the Nokia 6 was launched running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Some months after the launch the smartphone was upgraded to Android Oreo, now Android 9 Pie is coming to the phone. The software update is expected to roll out in a phased manner. The phone is backed by 3000mAh battery.

Nokia 8 Finally Gets Android 9 Pie Update in India

Namaste India! Aapke #Nokia8 ke liye... ab tayyar hai! Aapki patience ke liye dhanyawaad," Sarvikas tweeted announcing the coming of Android 9 Pie to its first flagship smartphone after the comeback. To recall, the Nokia 8 was launched in the month of August in 2017. The Nokia phone was launched running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and it was later upgraded to Oreo and now to Pie. For the Nokia 8 too, the Android 9 Pie software update rollout may happen in a phased manner.

Late in December 2018, HMD announced that it's pushing Android 9 Pie update to the Nokia 8, but the rollout was halted due to some VoLTE related issues with Indian carriers. Now HMD seems to have fixed the bug and the update is reaching Indian users of Nokia 8.
