Micromax-owned YU Televentures has appointed Shubhodip Pal as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). He will be replacing Amarinder Dhaliwal, who has decided to explore newer opportunities. This is Pal’s second stint with the company, as he was earlier involved as the Chief Marketing Officer of Micromax, the parent brand of YU.
In his new role, he will help build engaged communities and closely work with developer’s community and take YU to the next level of growth.
“As YU opens a new chapter in its growth trajectory, we are excited to have Shubhodip back with us and welcome him on board. He will prove to be a great asset to the YU leadership team. Being one of the best marketing veterans, he has a proven ability to create strategic clarity, drive innovation and growth, ensure disciplined execution, and deliver results. I am confident that his passion for technology will further help the brand achieve newer heights,” Rahul Sharma, Founder YU, said in a statement.
“I am happy to be back and it’s an exciting opportunity to spearhead efforts for YU at a juncture when the young brand has done phenomenally well and has set some of the most compelling milestones,” Pal said.
Pal comes with over 19 years of consumer marketing experience in launching, building and managing brands from consumer durables to the banking/financial, IT hardware sector and telecom services sector.
He began his career in 1997 with Samsung India Electronics and spent over nine years serving in different roles. In 2005, he moved to ABN AMRO as AVP and head, communications and sponsorships. After that, he joined Hewlett Packard in 2007 and worked as head, consumer marketing. He managed and led communications for both HP and Compaq brands in India, and successfully turned Hewlett Packard into a fashionable lifestyle-centric brand from just a B2B brand.
