Jio and Airtel handle most of the telecom subscribers in the country. Thus, most of the passengers travelling via the Adani Navi Mumbai International Airport are likely to carry an Airtel or a Jio SIM card. The telcos are worried about  the monopolistic arrangement that currently exists inside the airport for offering access to the mobile network infrastructure. Telcos need access to the infrastructure to optimise network and offer high-speed connectivity and strong coverage inside the airport.

According to a report from the Trak, the telcos have accused the airport authorities about hindering their ability to install telecom equipment for offering network services. There's no equal access to antennas, base stations, and the network equipment inside the airport. Without that, high-quality services can't be offered by the telcos. The current arrangement gives preferential treatment to one of the operators and exludes others, meaning an unfair competition ground.
