Cellular Operator Association of India (COAI) said that the number of all India GSM cellular subscriber base reached 69.70 crore, an increase of 1.40 percent, in February.With this, GSM mobile operators added 95.94 lakh more subscribers at the month end.
The industry body said that it does not include GSM subscriber number of Reliance Communications, Tata Teleservices, BSNL and Quadrant. Bharti Airtel is leading the GSMA cellular subscribers, it added 30.69 lakh subscribers to take its base to 22.31 crore at the end of February. It has a market share of 32.01% by the end of the last month.
Vodafone India added 19.50 lakh users during the month to reach a total of 18.24 crore users. With this, the company's market share reached 26.18% by end of the month.
Similarly, Aditya Birla group, Idea Cellular added 26.98 lakh subscribers, and its total subscriber base now stands at 15.54 crore. It has a market share of 22.30%.
Among others, Aircel added 9.15 lakh new users to its network and its user bases stood at 8.05 crore. Uninor also added 6.65 lakh subscribers and its user bases stood at 4.51 crore.Videocon Telecom has added 2.77 lakh users with a total subscriber base of 69.02 lakh by end of February.
