Gionee has launched yet another smartphone in its P series - the P7, which is a successor to the P7 Max. The new phone from Gionee is priced at Rs. 9,999 and will be up for sale via major online and offline stores all over India in White, Latte Gold, and Grey colour options.
The Gionee P7 comes with a glass back with ribbon pattern on it and metal edges. It is a toned down version of the P7 Max, which was launched a few months ago. The P7 bears a 5-inch (720x1280 pixels) HD IPS display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM. It packs in 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). The Gionee P7 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo 3.2 UI on top. There is an 8-megapixel rear camera on board with LED flash coupled with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The P7 is backed by a 2300mAh battery, which is touted by Gionee to deliver 259 hours of standby time. The device supports connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio.
The device lacks a fingerprint sensor, which is found on most of the recently launched phones even under 8K price segment. We wonder what Gionee is up to, as devices like P7 stand nowhere in front of phones like Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 that offer far better specifications under the same price range.
