First Looks: Quad Core powered, Jelly Bean running Gionee Dream D1

As Android ecosystem continues to be better, the hardware of smartphones took a jump - for mere some MHz processor to today's smartphones are loaded with quad core, octa core processors with upto 2GB of RAM - making them more powerful than my first desktop.

In India, there are lots of quad core smartphones from Micromax, Lava, Xolo, Karbonn, Celkon, iBall and others. We are here presenting Dream D1 from Gionee, a mobile manufacturer from China.




Gionee may be a little-known company in the country, but it is one of top handset companies in China. The company entered in the country lately and is offering several handsets from basic multimedia handsets to quad core powered smartphones. Dream D1 is the quad core powered, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean running beast from Gionee.

Luckily we got Dream D1 from Gionee for review. Here goes our unboxing a.k.a. first look of Gionee Dream D1:
