CelcomDigi, U Mobile, ZTE Achieve 30.8 Gbps Mobile Speeds with 5G-Advanced
Malaysian operators CelcomDigi and U Mobile, in partnership with ZTE, have announced that they have been recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records for achieving the fastest mobile speeds at 30.8 Gbps with 5G-Advanced (5G-A) during a live trial conducted in Kuching, Sarawak. In addition to this new benchmark, the partners also recorded individual users experiencing speeds of up to 8.5 Gbps.

5G-A Technology Showcase

According to the joint statement, this milestone underscores the transformative potential of 5G-A technology, supporting complex, data-intensive applications. The technology will be showcased in Malaysia's first 5G-A live broadcast of the Sukma 2024 Opening Ceremony, with high-resolution, low-latency streams provided by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM). This broadcast will allow RTM to deliver superior footage and real-time coverage.

Experience 5G-A Enhanced XR

Visitors to the CelcomDigi, U Mobile, and ZTE 5G-A Pavilion at Stadium Sarawak can experience 5G-A-enhanced XR (extended reality) through 360-degree cameras and VR goggles, immersing themselves in the stadium's atmosphere, the official release said.
