BSNL Launches Pocket-Friendly Prepaid Plan of Rs 27 Targeting Jio

BSNL is on a roll of late, especially in the prepaid segment. The telco has launched yet another affordable and pocket-friendly prepaid plan of Rs 27, which offers benefits for a week and at the same time, the telco is targeting the Rs 52 plan from Reliance Jio. BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) has launched this new plan of Rs 27 on a pan-India basis, and it's already valid across all the circles where the telco has its operations. That being said, it's not a promotional plan, so users don't have to worry about when the plan will be removed from the tariff plans list of BSNL. Aforesaid, BSNL is providing data, voice and SMS benefits with this prepaid plan and they're certainly better than the offering of Reliance Jio.

Diving into the benefits offered by the plan, users will get unlimited voice calling for seven days without any FUP limit. However, the voice calling is not applicable to mobile numbers located in Mumbai and Delhi circles.

Alongside the voice calling benefit, the same plan offers 1GB of 2G/3G data. BSNL is yet to launch 4G services in the country, which is the reason why users have to settle down with 3G data for high-speed internet on the network. Lastly, the same plan offers 300 SMS for the duration of the plan.

Reliance Jio also has a weekly plan of Rs 52 which gives a total of 1.05GB 4G data benefit divided to 150MB per day, unlimited voice calls to any network across the country and 70 SMS for seven days.

In recent times, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone both rolled a month tariff plan of Rs 47. Both the telcos are offering 125 minutes of voice calls, 50 SMSes and 500MB data for 28 days.

BSNL is ahead of Reliance Jio, both in terms of pricing and benefits. However, the only shortcoming of BSNL's plan is the unavailability of voice calling to Mumbai and Delhi circles. Do make a note that this new plan from BSNL joins the existing prepaid plans of Rs 39 and others under Rs 50.
