India's National Telecom Backbone and one of the largest telecom service operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) launches 3G Mobile, Data services and Live Mobile TV in Imphal the state capital city of Manipur under its North East-2 Telecom circle.
Earlier the BSNL 3G services was launched in 4 cities in the North East-2 circle named in Kohima, Dimapur and Mokkukchung of Nagaland, Itanagar of Arunachal Pradesh.
The much awaited BSNL 3G mobile along with Live Mobile TV services is commercially launched in Imphal for prepaid and Postpaid subscribers by Mr. Rajan Sanyal, CGM BSNL North East-2 telecom circles in the presence of senior of BSNL officials and Franchises of Manipur SSA.
Speaking on the launch of 3G Mobile service Mr Sanyal stated “In the first phase in Imphal city the 3G-UMTS network are available in areas around Porompat, Lamlong Bazar, Chingmeirong, Koirengei, Thangmeiband, Lamphel Exchange, Tera Bazasr, Langjing, Kwakeithel, Singjamei bazaar, Manipur University, Kongba Bazar etc and the 3G service will further be expanded to other district like Imphal-East, Imphal-West district, Thoubal, Senapati, Bishnupur, Churachandpur etc within next 3 to 4 months."
As a Promotional offer BSNL launches an introductory 3G Prepaid Plan wherein BSNL subscribers will get 50 free video calls and 25 MB Data usage. After the free usage Local Voice and Video calls will be charged at 30 Paisa per minute and All STD video calls will cost at 50 paisa with the prepaid FRC120 for new 3G subscribers.The 3G Sim card will cost Rs.59 for new customer while existing BSNL 2G GSM Subscriber can migrate to 3G services at free of cost without changing the SIM card.
