State run telecom operator BSNL is looking to up the ante in the broadband department. The company, so far, offered decent broadband plans in the form of BB249 plan, BBG ULD 695 plan, etc. And now, the ISP has announced a new plan of Rs. 1,895 which offers 50 Mbps download speed.

However, this plan is valid only for the residents of Kerala circle, says a report from Keralatelecom.info. The FUP limit set by BSNL for this plan is 100GB, and beyond the FUP, users can enjoy a download speed of 2 Mbps. BSNL will also offer one static IP address on customer's request at Rs. 1800 per year.

The government-owned PSU also revised two of its best broadband plans in the same Kerala circle. The plans are Fibro BBG ULD l045 CS48 and Fibro BBG ULD 1395 CS49, which used to offer 20 Mbps download speed until now. But they are modified to offer 30 Mbps and 40 Mbps download speed respectively. Having said that, the BBG 1045 plan comes with a monthly FUP of 50GB, while the BBG 1395 offers 75GB data per month. Both the plans provide 2 Mbps after FUP speed.

The report highlights that both these plans will be valid in the Kerala circle starting today. With these broadband plans, BSNL is looking to compete with private telecom operators such as Airtel and Hathway, who has operations in some of the Kerala circles.

Bharti Airtel has a plan of Rs. 1099, under which the operator is providing 40 Mbps download speed with a monthly FUP of 130GB alongside a bonus data of 750GB data valid till March 31, 2018.

Not only the broadband plans, BSNL also made some noticeable changes to some of the prepaid mobile plans as well. The company has withdrawn its popular BSNL Sixer 666 plan in Kerala circle for some unknown reasons, which is underwhelming.

Note: BSNL has almost similar plan in a few other circles. For example, the ISP Is giving 60 Mbps speed with a FUP of 100GB in Bangalore for Rs. 1995.
