Asus ROG Phone 2 will be the first smartphone in India to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset. The ROG Phone 2 was launched in China a few weeks ago at an affordable price of around 3,499 Yuan (approx. Rs 35,500). The ROG Phone 2 will come as a successor to the ROG Phone which made its debut in India last year for Rs 69,999. With the ROG Phone 2, the company is also expected to bring its upgraded gaming accessories as well. Right now, we don't know the pricing of the ROG Phone 2, but what we know is the upcoming gaming smartphone will be exclusive to Flipkart in the sub-continent. The ROG Phone 2 has a 120Hz AMOLED display which is a first on any smartphone compared to the 90Hz AMOLED display we saw on the OnePlus 7 Pro.

Asus ROG Phone 2: Specifications and Features

To recall, the ROG Phone 2 made its debut in China back in July 2019 with high-end specs on board. The gaming phone from Asus packs a 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display on the front with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and HDR 10 support. Both the front and back glass panels are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The ROG Phone 2' screen has a 120Hz refresh rate and it's said to offer 49ms touch latency.

Under the hood, the ROG Phone 2 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, clubbed with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.0 internal storage. The phone has two USB Type-C ports- one on the bottom and the other one on the left side to provide hassle-free gaming experience.

The ROG Phone 2 has just two cameras on the rear side- a primary Sony IMX586 sensor coupled with a 13MP wide-angle shooter. On the front, the phone has a 24MP shooter for selfies and video calls. The phone also has stereo speakers to provide excellent audio performance.

Another highlight of the Asus ROG Phone 2 is its massive 6000mAh battery which will allow users to have uninterrupted gaming sessions. The Asus ROG Phone 2 may launch in multiple variants in India with up to 1TB of storage as this variant was unveiled at the IFA 2019 tech show in Berlin. The ROG Phone 2 has Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ fast charging support.

Asus ROG Phone 2: Expected India Pricing

The original ROG Phone was launched in India at Rs 69,999, which is on the higher side. But we're expecting an aggressive price from Asus for the ROG Phone 2 since other gaming phones like BlackShark 2 and Nubia Red Magic 3 with similar specs are available for as low as Rs 35,999. The ROG Phone 2 could beat the OnePlus 7T marginally for the crown of the first smartphone to launch in India with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset. The OnePlus 7T will be officially launched in India in on September 26 and it will go on sale during the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale. That said, the ROG Phone 2 might be available for purchase during the Flipkart Big Billion Day sale scheduled to happen later this month.
