Gurgaon today took another major step towards becoming fully digitally integrated, with the launch of public wi-fi hotspots powered by Airtel. The initiative, which is promoted by the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon, was launched today by Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana.
Starting today, people visiting MG Road, Sadar Bazaar, Sector 29 market and Sarhaul Village can enjoy free Wi-Fi sessions on their devices. The Wi-Fi is open to all users, who have a Wi-Fi compatible device. When in proximity to the Wi-Fi, a user has to just enable Wi-Fi in his/her device settings and search for ‘MCG powered by Airtel’.
Users can then easily connect to the service by following some simple steps. Users will be able to enjoy a free daily quota limit of 30 minutes per day per device. One can continue to use the Wi-Fi services post 30 minutes also, however they will be charged a nominal amount. While Airtel users will be charged on their data plan/packs, non-Airtel users will be able to buy online vouchers with affordable deals. Airtel customers can connect to the Wi-Fi using the Airtel Hangout app also.
Dhruv Bhagat, CEO - Delhi/NCR, Bharti Airtel was also present at the event and said, “We are very happy to partner with the Gurgaon administration and enable citizens in the Millennium City to experience world-class internet services on the go.”
Airtel had won the mandate for this Wi-Fi launch from MCG last year making it the most preferred partner to enable residents in the Millenium City to enjoy a world-class internet experience.
