Indian telecommunications company Bharti Airtel has collaborated with the Indian Army to bring mobile connectivity to Galwan and Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO), the northernmost military outposts in Ladakh. This makes Airtel the only private telecom service provider to offer its services at an altitude of 16,700 feet above the sea level, Bharti Airtel said on Wednesday.

Towers Set Up Across Key Ladakh Locations
Airtel has set up 17 mobile towers across key locations including Kargil, Siachen, Galwan, DBO, and the Changthang region, extending connectivity to remote villages in Ladakh.
Partnership with Leh Signalers
Working alongside the Leh Signalers, Airtel said it successfully navigated challenging conditions to bring this infrastructure online, bolstering both civilian and military communication in one of India’s most rugged terrains.

Galwan and Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) are both located in the Ladakh region on the Indo China border at the northeastern corner of the Karakoram Range, Airtel noted.
