IP Infusion has announced that Danish non-profit ISP ASOM-Net has successfully deployed a 400G IPoDWDM network infrastructure, powered by its OcNOS 400G ZR+ enabled switches. This achievement was made possible through collaboration with various partners, with the switches being equipped with optical solution from Smartoptics, while Stordis, an open networking equipment provider, delivered distribution support.

ASOM-Net’s 400G Network Upgrade
By leveraging a disaggregated networking solution, ASOM-Net, which serves 75,000 subscribers in Denmark, integrated 400G ZR+ technology into Edgecore white box switches, optimising network scalability and reducing operational costs. Smartoptics’ DCP-F amplifiers were used to extend signal reach, further minimising space, power, and equipment requirements.
Key Partners and Technologies Behind the Upgrade
"The disaggregated networking solution allows us to break free from the locked-in approach of traditional network systems," said ASOM-Net. "We now have the flexibility to select best-of-breed network elements for every layer of the network. This is crucial for delivering the best value at a low cost to our members, as we are a not-for-profit organisation."
IP Infusion said "Our collaboration with Smartoptics has resulted in a compelling solution that enables service providers like ASOM-Net to achieve their business objectives while accelerating digital transformation."
"By utilising this modern network architecture, they have not only simplified their network design but also drastically reduced their overall expenditure, needing less equipment, power, and space. The synergy between Smartoptics, IP Infusion, and Edgecore has created an extremely efficient and flexible network, with each solution specialising in different aspects of ASOM's infrastructure, complementing each other seamlessly," added Smartoptics.
