Telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam LTD (BSNL) hasn't been at its best in the postpaid plans department. However, the company will soon solve this issue as it's planning to launch a new entry-level Rs 399 postpaid plan offering unlimited voice calls to counter the incumbent telecom operators recent postpaid plan revisions. This news is confirmed by BSNL's CMD Anupam Shrivastava in a session with users on Twitter. However, we don't know when the company will be launching this new postpaid plan. Nevertheless, we got to know that the plan has been sent for final approval to higher authorities and will be live for consumers next week or over the weekend itself.

But apart from the free unlimited voice calling, we don't have any other info about other benefits of the upcoming plan though. But BSNL might offer data benefit as well, and also it's expected to revise the entire postpaid tariff plans to match the rival operators.

Currently, BSNL has a wide range of postpaid plans starting at Rs 99 and going all the way up to Rs 1,525. In fact, the premium Rs 1,525 postpaid plan is possibly the best one in the market right now as it offers unlimited data without any FUP limit like other operators. However, the entry-level plans are sort of a worry for the operator.

For the unknown, since the last two weeks, the top three telecom operators- Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular are constantly upgrading their postpaid plans. Firstly, Airtel did a massive change of unlimited roaming calls and 20GB data with the Rs 399 myPlan Infinity plan, which is soon by followed by Vodafone India.

And lastly, Idea Cellular revised the same Rs 389 plan and started offering unlimited voice calls including roaming calls and 20GB data per billing cycle. Also, telecom operators are bundling content services with the postpaid plans, whereas BSNL has been silent on the content part.

That said, BSNL should look into the content game and also launch competitive postpaid plans to keep the users alive. What do you want to see in the upcoming Rs 399 postpaid plan?
