The tariff war has begun again. After battling with Reliance Jio for the last one year, incumbent telecom operators are now looking for an upper hand over the new entrant by offering better tariff plans. Recently, Airtel, Idea Cellular, and Vodafone updated their unlimited combo tariff plans and now offering roaming outgoing calls.
Airtel went ahead and started offering 1.5GB data per day with its Rs. 349 plan, instead of earlier 1GB data per day. And now, Idea Cellular joins the party yet again and is now offering 1.5GB data per day for 28 days, making it 42GB for the entire period. Idea has made the change to its open market plan of Rs. 357, which we reported a few days ago.
Idea Cellular's Rs. 357 plan is valid for both new and existing Idea subscribers, and it gives unlimited voice calls ( free incoming and outgoing roaming calls), 100 SMS per day, and 1.5GB data per day.
Idea Cellular has also updated its Rs. 398 tariff plan that is valid for segmented customers. Just a couple of days ago, Idea started offering a Rs. 398 plan to its users with different validity and benefits for customers. The Rs. 398 plan now also offers unlimited roaming outgoing calls and 100 SMS per day, but sadly, it still gives 1GB data per day.
That said, the validity of the plan differs with users. Some customers will get the same plan for 56 days, some may get it for 70 days, and for some Idea customers, the same plan is valid for 84 days. This plan from Idea Cellular is to take on Reliance Jio's Rs. 399 and Airtel's Rs. 399 tariff plans.
