Just before putting Nokia in a cold corner, Microsoft has launched a new feature phone with its brand name, dubbed as the Nokia 216. The device is also available in a dual-SIM variant. It is a basic phone with menial features for non-techy users.
The Nokia 216 has been priced at Rs. 2,495, and it will be available in Black, White, and Mint colour options. For now, the device will be up for sale in India from October 24; Microsoft has not yet revealed any info about its global rollout.
The Nokia 216 comes with a 2.4-inch color LCD at a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. It also sports VGA front and rear cameras that can capture videos at 15fps. Both the cameras are integrated with LED flash. The phone also features 16MB of RAM, which is suitable enough to run Opera Mini Browser and plenty of apps from the Opera Mobile Store. There is only external storage on the device, which can be up to 32GB via microSD card. The internal storage is just to save up to 2000 contacts. The device runs Series 30 software.
Regarding connectivity, the Nokia 216 offers you 2G GSM in the 900MHz and 1800MHz spectrums, and Bluetooth 3.0. There is no support Wi-Fi. However, you do get a micro-USB 1.1 port, stereo FM radio receiver, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It measures 118 x 50.2 x 13.5mm and weighs 82.6 grams. A 1,020mAh battery backs the device.
