Chinese internet conglomerate LeTV, which recently rebranded as LeEco is now behind framing its new device. The bits and pieces of the handset already surfaced online multiple times. This time, it seems the hardware comes in three hardware versions, as spotted on GFXBench .

LeEco Le 2

Possibly called as Le 2, Le 2 Pro, or even Le Max 2, the highest end of the handset may feature a whopping 6GB of RAM. The phone is also expected to boast a 5.5-inch QHD display with 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, a 21-megapixel rear camera (with 4K video recording capability), an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper capable of recording QHD video, and 64GB of internal storage. Also, the device is tipped to come powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset clocking at 2.1GHz and on the software front, it will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

There is no clear-cut information about when the handset will be announced, rather any information about the pricing. Meanwhile, LeEco has filed an application with the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) for opening single-brand retail stores to sell its electronic products. In a statement released by the company, it said that it has sought relaxation from the 30% domestic sourcing rule so that it can bring in 'cutting edge' technology and 'state-of-the-art' features to the Indian consumers. Besides the mobile phones, LeEco will also showcase TVs, VR Headsets, Bluetooth devices and power banks in its retail stores.

Initially, LeEco will open 8-10 retail stores across the country, in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Subsequently, the company will open 500 franchise stores. By the end of 2016, LeEco has also planned to establish an R&D center in Bengaluru with a staff of 1,000 employees.
