It looks like the telecom companies are revamping the top heads, devising themselves to meet the new market scenario.
Tata Teleservices has appointed Anuraag Srivastava as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company. Earlier, he was associated with Indus Towers as Senior Vice President of Internal Audit and Assurance. Mr. Srivastava has also worked with firms like Future Axiom Telecom Limited and Glaxo Smithkline, bringing with him a rich industry experience in handling consumer goods and telecom businesses in multiple geographies across India, USA, UK and South Asia.
“I'm excited to be a part of Tata Teleservices that has established itself as a trusted and one of the most relied upon innovative telecom brand in the country and is rapidly scaling its businesses across the markets. These are exciting times for the telecom industry and Tata Teleservices is at the heart of this evolution. I look forward to working closely with the management team to capitalise on the company's impending growth opportunities,” Srivastava said.
Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel has appointed Mr. Wim Vanhelleputte as the new Executive Director, who will be responsible for strategic business units across Gabon, Congo B, Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad, Madagascar and the Seychelles. Mr. Vanhelleputte was the Chief Executive Officer for MTN Ivory Coast, and he transformed the company from a GSM only operator into the number one fully integrated telecom player in the country.
“Vanhelleputte has distinguished himself with his exceptional understanding of the African telecoms landscape. I believe he will use his experience, leadership and understanding of the African market to accelerate our market leadership opportunities and develop the team capabilities as we seek to take our brand to the next level. Wim takes over from Mr. Somasekhar VG, who is leaving us after valuable contribution to the company,” said Airtel Africa’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Christian de Faria after introducing the new appointment.
