GSM mobile operators have added 8.21 million in subscribers in November taking the overall base to 670.25 million with, 1.24% increase over the previous month, according to the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). All India GSM cellular subscribers as of October 2014 stood at 762.36 million.
Idea Cellular has added 2.54 million subscribers in its network in November, the highest among GSM-based operators in India in terms of numbers users. Vodafone India came next with 2.33 million additions, followed by Bharti Airtel at 2.05 million, COAI said in a statement.
Airtel had added 215.46 million subscribers at the end of the November, the user base of operators, Uninor had 42 million, Videocon had 6 million, Aircel had 78 million, and MTNL had 3 million at end of November respectively.
Uttar Pradesh East had the highest number of GSM subscribers among India’s 22 telecom circles, with 58.85 million people subscribing to service provided on the popular communication platform.
