Tata Docomo has launched a series of 8 Television Ad’s that will magnify the theme ‘no getting away from the network that connects always.
This message is reinforced with a strong support basis the TRAI Quality of Service report for all operators.
As per this report, the Tata DOCOMO network delivers on all network quality parameters, as set by TRAI.
Over the last 2 years, they have been able to complete the ramp-up of their network to support 2G as well as 3G services.
Most of the communication around network by various operators in the category previously has ended up narrating a storyline on the strength of network, primarily around the expanse of coverage.
However, over the last few years and more so, since launch of 3G, the erratic network connectivity even in ‘covered areas’ has become a key irritant for the consumer.
In fact, ‘continuity of network’ is emerging as a stronger driver of network satisfaction than geographical expanse of coverage. The new communication from Tata DOCOMO hence maintains a humorous tonality while delivering network assurance across all the TVCs.
They have tried to talk up their network delivery with this new ‘continuity’ dimension in a manner that consumers decipher the benefit of a network in their own manner.

I am a tata docomo tamilnadu circle customer. My friends are not able to call me from their bsnl punjab and up numbers. They get the error msg – this phone number is not available.

Tata Docomo’s network quality is very poor and signal always flactuating.Their gprs speed also suxx only gives 4-5kbps even in the early morning and they are making people fool to telling them to give 32-48kbps always.

For people who have read this article but feels that Tata Docomo’s network is not up to the mark, I would request them to please read the matter over again and then post their feedback. TRAI never judged that Tata Docomo has the best network and even did not say that it has the best coverage amongst the rest. Friends, India is the 7th largest country in this planet and no operator, not even the biggies and oldies like Vodafone and Airtel can claim that they have 100% coverage of the entire country – they are still expanding and if someone expects Tata Docomo to match up with these biggies, they should come back and write here after a couple of years. If you read the article carefully you will see that TRAI has observed that Tata Docomo “Over the last 2 years, they have been able to complete the ramp-up of their network to support 2G as well as 3G services.” This sets them apart but correct me if I am wrong but to my knoeledge no other operator has been able to achieve this feat.
I would also like to highlight that the name Tata begets “respect”. They believe in doing business ethically. No wonder their customer care apart from various other value added services are still free of cost which none of the other operators (except BSNL to some extent) provide. Have you seen any other operator offering web based customer service. Friends, a child takes time to grow up – you cannot expect a child to be an Einstein from day 1 even though he may be better than his peers. Give Tata Docomo some time to grow and it would come out to be one of the ‘world’s best carriers’. Be patient!

Tata Docomo’s network was good in our city. But recently the network signal is very poor. I heard that important Docomo tower has been closed down. If the company does not solve the problem many will be porting to other operators soon.

Might be Aircel hasn’t have installed their own BTS in your area in Bhiwani but now at most places they have their own network in Haryana. I have checked myself in Ambala & neraby areas, they have their own network. Though customers can select Tata Docomo’s network also but their own network i.e (IND 807 or 405-807) is live in Haryana at many places. Your area will also be covered soon.

Seems that TRAI judges only on PAPERS & NOT THE GROUND REALITY!!
TATA DOCOMO has only 4.4 MHz of Spectrum in almost all Circles which means a Customer gets best network only when he is near the “Cell Tower”!!
INDOOR COVERAGE of TATA DOCOMO is Worst!!(Same Reason Weak Coverage)
Soo netwok quality cant be matched with AIRTEL,IDEA,VODAFONE.. as they have Enough Spectrum in All Circles and hence STRONGEST COVERAGE…

- Category A, B C service area: 50% of district headquarters (DHQ) will be covered by 3G spectrum, of which at least 15% should be rural Short distance charging (SDC) areas within 5 years.
-Rural SDC areas are such that 50% of their population lives in rural areas. The operator shall be permitted to cover any other town in the district in lieu of the DHQ. The choice of expansion and towns beyond 50% shall lie with the operator.
In case the telecom operator does not meet the rollout obligations in 5 years they can get a one year extension by paying an additional 2.5% of the successful bid amount. Beyond that, if rollout obligations are not met, the spectrum will be withdrawn.

Same problem here. Tata Docomo hasn’t added a single town/taluka in Haryana since launch. 3G available only in cities while Idea has covered most of the towns. Vodafone has 3G in Ambala & Panipat only (They are much slower than Tata).

I beg to differ here on continuity of network.
here in maharashtra circle their 3G network is still spotty and they have hell lot of places to improve upon where they can say they are the best.
If they are so good,where are customers?
what are the no. of active subscribers?
Their marketing is good but that should be accompanied by strong network with excellent backhaul for 3G speed.
