    What about STV ? Rs.135 STV generally works in home circle only. Will it work in north east if home circle is Assam?

    I am badly effected by the poor service of BSNL websites not working. I am from north east and at present in Delhi side. And my validity expired today and i didn’t find any recharge point to recharge my mobile. It is highly frustrating and bogus service of BSNL not working and it gives validity just for 3 months in north east states and expects to recharge mobile with 500 ruppees means with high denomination. I just don’t know what to do. I cannot make calls now from today. Also no customer care number working. You can call 123 only in north east. And if you call 1503 they will straight refuse saying we don’t know. This is just disgusting. Any body have solution please post this message. I feel cheated.

    Being a Govt undertaking and eventually invested taxpayers’ earning, they are bound to provide such services to the tax payers rather just behaving like a private operator to accumulate money. Anyway…Der Aye Durust Aye!!!

    Atleast the entire N.EAST people will have a valid reason to be delighted and to cheer it up. After a long time we feel that dot and BSNL have understood our cruical problem and did true justice.

    San :
    Why do the roaming valit within North-East only,Is it not important to provide roaming facility in outside of North-East and giving Roaming facilities of other state’s SIM within North-East?

    Its for NE CUSTOMER OF BSNL so valid for North East region. Other state’s postpaid customer can Roam in North East as per DoT guidelines.

    Why I could not roam in NE & J&K if I have prepaid connection? I have also deposited all the valid document to take a prepaid connection & after checking of all the papers the mobile company activated my SIM card.Then why prepaid roaming is banned there? ITS A HUMAN RIGHT VIOLATION.

    As evident its always BSNL who takes these giant leaps forward not to save market position of its own but make service available to its esteemed customers in Assam & North-East regions which we know are terrorist hit zones along with Jammu&Kashmir..The Govt Of India has banned pre-paid roaming in these states and only post-paid numbers are roamed from other circles..So BADA BHAI being a Govt Of India undertaking has every right for such offers..Alas this free roaming is extended also to LSA of Calcutta,Bengal,Bihar&Jharkhand,Orissa along with Assam and North East..Such a free roaming across BSNL network even to MTNL(Delhi and Mumbai) was given for 2 months in the year 2006(May-June)

    @Duane

    Duane :

    SANJAY just a thought … isnt ROAMING banned in NORTH EAST and JAMMU-KASHMIR by DOT for Security Reasons ?? How is “BADA BHAI” offering “FREE ROAMING” in North East :-)

    This free roaming service is for NORTH EAST and ASSAM subscribers of BSNL (not for other circles) and BSNL will treat both circles subscribers as one circle’s users in terms of billing only.
    That prepaid roaming ban is NOT applicable for the North East and Assam circle’s to roam in their own LSA area.

    I second RAHUL … BSNL is truly “CONNECTING INDIA” … however it is doing it in “pockets” – free Roaming in DELHI & MUMBAI … then DELHI & NCR REGION … now ASSM & NORTH-EAST regions…

    when will “BADA BHAI” come forward & introduce ONE INDIA – FREE ROAMING ANYWHERE IN INDIA ???
