According to Aircel Chief Technology Officer Mallikarjuna Rao, Aircel plans to formally launch its 3G services in the market in the next 40-60 days. He said that the company’s 3G service will be pan-India and there will be collaboration with other telecom companies who have the 3G licences in other circles.

But one of the Funniest Things is That Aircel Has Launched it’s Gsm Service in Karnataka on 13th of March 2009 and On The Next day i.e. On 14th of Aircel Has Launched it’s Gsm Service in Andhra Pradesh. But if We Compare Aircel Andhra Pradesh, Aircel Karnataka Network is Energitic Coz in Karnataka Aircel is Having Good Coverage along with Good Network

@Amit.G
at the end voice clarity ,no disconnection and not coverage.but Uninor have to improve the coverage part only. here also the same problem to me for Docomo if the signal is 1-2 bars there is some sort of sound coming and the voice clarity is not at all clear. Uninor is definitely going in the right path but Docomo’s Position on coverage,voice clarity will be known in the next 6 months or so.Uninor i too have the same experience crystal clear clarity even if the signals are 1-2.
Amit.G January 7, 2011 at 3:44 pm
@Amit.G
Yesterday i used AIrtel 3G in Airtel Relationship centre Bangalore.. Speed was ok ok, I was in between 1.2-1.7mbps not more than tat. BSNL & DOCOMO offer upto 6mbps in my 7.2mbps support modem
Amit.G January 7, 2011 at 3:25 pm
@Raghu
Ya dude even in some parts of maharastra ter is network problem with Docomo. And in karnataka network coverage & clarity is good but U cannot speak or hear anything if ur signal is 1or 2 bars.
My friend stays in yavatmal Maharastra & he was using Docomo, whenever we use to speak i couldn hear anthing bcos of severe voice breakage & he was also complaining tat it happens with everybody he speaks. So finally i asked him to try Uninor once. now he is using uninor & says tat network is really great. Signal is just 2 bars @ his place but can speak for hours with crystal clear conversations..
Kaushik Roy January 7, 2011 at 2:05 pm
AIRCEL NETWORK IS JUST AVERAGE CONSIDERING OVERALL INDIA COVERAGE
BUT GOOD THING IS THAT THEY ARE OPERATING IN ALL 23 CIRCLES
SO THEY CAN GET A GOOD BUYER LIKE AT & T AND OTHER BIGGIES WHO ARE NOT IN INDIA YET AND ALSO OTHER NON PAN INDIA OPERATORS LIKE DOCOMO AND UNINOR.
BECAUSE PURCHASING AIRCEL MEANS THE PURCHASER DONT HAVE TO BOTHER ABOUT SPECTRUM,LICENCE PROBLEM
AIRCEL BRAND WILL REMAIN THERE, ONLY MANAGEMENT CHANGES
IT IS THE CHEAPEST GSM OPEARTOR IN INDIA WITH PAN INDIA COVERAGE
MUCH BETTER THAN LOOP,ETISALAT ETC
BEST OF LUCK AIRCEL

the main problem with Tata Docomo network is the signal fluctuation and voice break problem . Uninor i find is much better than Tata Docomo . in my area i do not get signals at all Docomo. Docomo have to work on the voice clarity and coverage,signal fluctuation and put more towers to put an end to the problem. i think it will take more 6 months or so to get the above problems resolved.

Man, Internet Speed is Too Good in Aircel network of Karnataka State. Coz if You Try to Open a Telecomtalk Page Using Opera Mini On Your Aircel Mobile, It Will Opens Within 5 Seconds
sai January 7, 2011 at 12:52 pm
chennai and banglore there’s nice coverage i heard. Hyderabad and the other cities have poor. when i spoke to the aircel nodal officer he says that they are going to install 1100 towers by end of Jan! lets see.. but i noticed from surveys that maximum no of people wanted to port their number to AIRCEL. its nice move for aircel but if the network is still poor they would suck big time..
ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR January 7, 2011 at 8:57 am
@Manoj Abhigyan
Man, I Somewhat Agree With You. Aircel Network is Good in Karnataka Also+Better in Internet Service. But Aircel CC is The Hell in The World. Only Back End Team of Aircel Calls Up and They Confirm The Problem With Regarding To Network/Net Service/CUSTOMER CARE. They Are Good in Giving Good Service in Karnataka. I Think Aircel Has Pledge to Improve The Network in South India, North-EAST Provinces, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab.

IS THERE ANY CHANGE AFTER MNP IN HARYANA? PLS TELL ME OK@ashR
rahul January 7, 2011 at 2:23 am
@ashR
MY TAKE…
1)Airtel:- Worst and slowest GPRS speed in India. Wondering why its offering 2GB.. with its speed it will be an achievement if customers download more than 200mb/month!!! Everything else very good.
2)Vodafone :- Copycats, Unethical (roaming between mumbai and maharashtra, lots of fine prints and conditions), Uncompetitive (1GB GPRS for Rs.99 compared to 3-6GB offered by most operators. Less even compared to Airtel @ 2GB). Network good only in some metro cities and few states. Inconsistent network across India.
3)Idea :- Good Only In Maharastra excluding Mumbai
4)BSNL :- Good network in some states of India. Bad customer service is all states of India.
5)Reliance :- The biggest fraud of all (false activations of VAS… Legendary and Notorious for it since several years. Recently their false activations have increased dramatically). Worst network quality… Very bad indoor penetration problem at all places through out India.
6)Tata Docomo :- Very poor network coverage. Everything else very good. Lots of potential to be No.1 in India. But need to INVEST money in network coverage or will never break even in top 3 league (like aircel).
7) Aircel :- Network problem same like Reliance (guess they both share same towers). Below average is everything else but not very bad overall.

Here Is My opinion And Rateings
1)Airtel:- Best In Network , Tariff , Voice Clearity , Fast In Any Service Activation Deactivation if (U Activated DND No any ads and calls By Airtel….wow)
2)Vodafone :- Fowlloing Airtel
3)Idea :- Best Only In Maharastra , MP & AP)
4)BSNL :- Sabb Kuch Hai even Conggested Network
5)Reliance :- Pata Nahi Log Isko Kaise Zhelte Hai….
6)Tata Docomo :- Guys Aapke paass Lacks Of Rupees ho lekin use naa kar pao kiss kaam ke I mean Only tariff dont ask Abt Network
7)Uninor :- Abhi Bacccha Hain , Sirf Customer Dhundne ke funde dhoond Raha hai
8)Aircel :- Dint used Yett coz no network in MAHARASTRA so no comments…
And I’m not in fever To use CDMA
So also no comments on CDMA

i think, some body every time act as foolish, but one thing i will clear, now a days, some telecom companies as dont have much coverage, in ex: aircel, here arjun, amit, and lot of guys, are every time, they are mad wit aircel, but they dont know about some thing, when they went out of karnataka, some states have network, but in some states dont have networks, in aircel, karnataka tover infrastructure is shared with other telecom, but they act as a foolish, how will know this is a better main to act like this, first they want to know the best part in life they earn…., i dont think so, i got job with some company, but one is better i know that their is a nothing in life then mobile.
Manoj Abhigyan January 6, 2011 at 9:55 pm
Amit.G, Tata Docomo’s network is not so good but better than Reliance GSM. There is indoor coverage problem in Tata Docomo. But GPRS speed is too good in Tata DoCoMo. I think that’s best for GPRS.

How is tata docomo’s network quality in your circles?
Manoj Abhigyan January 6, 2011 at 9:06 pm
>@ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR
Dear ARJUN,
I don’t know about other circles but now a days Aircel is going good in U.P.East. Their network is also better than Tata Docomo, Reliance GSM and somewhere Idea. But their Customer Care and GPRS is worst. Tariff is the best in Aircel among GSM operators. They have almost everything in their tariff. One more thing, I’ve 2 Aircel SIMs since their launch in U.P. East but didn’t face any balance deduction and VAS activation by them. One more thing, you will get harassed by their promotional calls if not activated DND. They should consider about it.
Raghu January 6, 2011 at 8:26 pm
@ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR
please note that Aircel is not at all good in AP not average also . that much i can tell u.

@ARJUN .. aircel tamil nadu in which frequency it operates
karann January 6, 2011 at 7:48 pm
@Keshav Jha
aircel is the only pan-india operator to charge international calls at per second plans. now what say? i use aircel for international calls at per second rate.
in cdma only mts gives per second international calls
in gsm only docomo gives per second isd calls, which is not in delhi.
both these operator are not pan-india.
ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR January 6, 2011 at 7:42 pm

Aniket January 6, 2011 at 6:42 pm
In our West Bengal the worst coverage provide the our greatest comopany Aircel, and not only coverage but also Pocket Internet experience at Rs.14/- Unlimited but I am sure you can not cross the browsing limit not more than 5mb in 3 days. As because the company provide the maximum speed of 32kb/s
In a single word Aircel is the great.
ashR January 6, 2011 at 4:07 pm
ha ha ha……….u r yt this arjun is mad abt Aircel
ashR January 6, 2011 at 4:05 pm

@ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR
I dont know buddy i didn visit those places from past 2 years
Keshav Jha January 6, 2011 at 9:38 am
Fake data. Here in Delhi Aircel doesn’t sell single SIM. You can see everywhere 2 SIM@20 rs, 3 SIM@25rs etc. My friends are using it as a Top Up. I have such a bad experience with Aircel coverage that despite having good plans, mere andar bhool ke bhi Aircel use karne jaise gande khayal nahin aate. Haan ek aur baat, yahan pe koi hain jo Karnataka mein baithe – baithe hi other states mein Aircel ke good coverage ka theka le rahe hain. Unhen meri salah hai ki sirf apne circle ki baat karen. Baanki circle ki baat karne ke liye, us circle ke bhi kai log hain.

ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR January 6, 2011 at 7:56 am

Shut Your Mouth, I’m an Aircel Customer and I’m Getting Full Signals in indoor and as well as outdoor. Leaving out Maharashtra, You Can Get Good Signals With an Average Coverage on Pan India Basis
ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR January 6, 2011 at 5:40 am
@Vaibhav4
Aircel’s Coverage is Good in Tamilnadu, Assam, North East, Jammu and Kashmir, Mumbai,Delhi,Chennai and Karnataka. Average in Punjab, ANDHRA PRADESH,Kerala, Gujarat, Haryana, MADHYA PRADESH,UP(WEST AND EAST), West Bengal and Kolkata,Bihar and Jharkhand,Orissa,Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan
Worst in Maharashtra Due to Worst Scenarios.
ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR January 6, 2011 at 5:25 am
@Raghu
Ya! AIRCEL’S Coverage is Not Excellent But It’s Good to Use in Karnataka. Coverage is Little Bit Low in Some of The Villages and Network Expansion is Going on and in Metros Of Karnataka Like Mysore, Bangalore, Hubli and Mangalore it is Seamlessly Networked.
Vicky January 5, 2011 at 10:08 pm
@rohan
there is no use of unlimited when u cant finish even 1 GB Data per month with that pathetic speed
rohan January 5, 2011 at 9:54 pm
I hav heard that aircel is going to limit it unlimited GPRS pack have any1 heard abt it…
Vijay January 5, 2011 at 9:44 pm
I am using Aircel GPRS for one & half years. For more than a year it’s speed was very slow & with lots of disconnection. Few weeks back it had improved its speed also but now it gives limited data download. I mean to say when speed was slow than download unlimited & now when speed improved they made download limited. After 75 MB download they reduce the speed to less than 2 KBPS which is of no use. Going to change with IDEA GPRS which has better speed.
Raghu January 5, 2011 at 9:29 pm
@Amit.G
have they improved recently in villages and cities as i remember u told earlier they did not have proper coverage. how is their network and voice clarity in villages and cities

Vicky January 5, 2011 at 6:50 pm
what about aircel edge speed it is the worst one i have checked many times
both airtel and aircel not good
Abhijit January 5, 2011 at 6:39 pm
@ Mayur @ SAROJ. Very true worst network in Maharashtra we cant say Aircel as Mobile operator as per my views.. Mobile means full mobility but with Aircel we would be unreachable at most place in Maharashtra even in big towns… Even Reliance GSM is Far better than Aircel here…
Abhijit January 5, 2011 at 6:35 pm
@ Mayur @ SAROJ.
Gourav January 5, 2011 at 6:25 pm
In my city their network is very poor.Actually they are using docomo’s network in my city.
DB January 5, 2011 at 6:24 pm
@TAGORE VERMA
AIRCEL gives me excellent coverage @ Secunderabad (AP).
Have been using the service since APRIL 2009 when AIRCEL launched in AP.
The point I would like to make is that no network gives 100% coverage: how can an operator have 50 MILLION if their network is not good ??
Amit.G January 5, 2011 at 6:22 pm
Good Going AIrcel… In karnataka Aircel network is good with coverage, Hope it will continue
SAROJ January 5, 2011 at 6:15 pm
no network in manmad ,jalgaon and other cities like maharashtra. if one should take aircel and go to manmad then he will not get any network. or any roaming network.it is not accessing any network manually.
sathish January 5, 2011 at 5:53 pm
Any way its good news…If u take Chennai & RoTN Circle, No one can beat Aircel for past 12 years. Because of its strong Signal in each and every nook and corner of tamilnadu state. And one best thing in aircel, it has pioneer of unlimited sms, which is giving for past 10 years for its users. I think at that time no operator allowed to its users enjoying unlimited sms. In State of TN, Airtel is one of the worst or death service provider, becasue of Airtel network only avail in Cities and Towns of TN.
karann January 5, 2011 at 5:53 pm
aircel is the only gsm pan-india operator which gives international calls at per second bill plan. i love u aircel.
in cdma mts gives per second isd calls
in gsm docomo gives per second isd calls
both are not pan-india.
I am from delhi and a proud user of Aircel.
S January 5, 2011 at 5:46 pm
This article actually means 50 million customers are unreachable..thanks to Aircel
mayur January 5, 2011 at 5:25 pm
@Abhijit
yes it is true aircel is not having network in whole marathwada,vidharabh,konkan, north maharashtra except nashik whereas uninor is having network in all cities and taluka place also has started covering villages…
Amarrdiip January 5, 2011 at 5:20 pm
worst network in pune. low signal strength. i have to hang on window to call. gprs is bakwas even not able to open yahoo page.
Santu Sovan Mandal January 5, 2011 at 5:16 pm
Congrats aircel. But network is still not up to the mark. Hope the problem will be resolved soon.
santosh January 5, 2011 at 5:12 pm
@ANIRBAN
excellent thoughts……….it is one of the most third class networks in Odisha also.I have used it for more than 2 years for just its rate cutters but network quality is BAKWASS even outdoor coverage is too low and it has no range when u go out just one and half KM from the city.customer care is so ignorant that when u call them u think why i am calling here with charging money.
Abhijit January 5, 2011 at 5:01 pm
Poor network in Mumbai circle. But worst coverage is in Maharashtra circle. Cities which are covered by aircel in Maharashtra are having indoor coverage problem. And many towns and big villages dont have aircel even after 1 and half year of launching there service here. Uninor being new than aircel then also have better stable network. Aircel gprs speed also sucks.
KOUSHIK January 5, 2011 at 4:48 pm
VERY POOR NETWORK IN KOLKATA
ANIRBAN January 5, 2011 at 4:48 pm
Aircel ka network sabhi jagah par weak hain dear.
ARJUN CHANDRASHEKAR January 5, 2011 at 4:38 pm
@Sai
BUT IN BANGALORE, IT IS HAVING EXCELLENT COVERAGE SO THAT WE CAN USE IT AND ROKTK (REST OF KARNATAKA) THEY ARE IMPROVING. SO ATLEAST WE CAN WAIT FOR THEM TO GIVE GOOD COVERAGE
S January 5, 2011 at 4:37 pm
I agree. Aircel customers are always unreachable. Vodafone is the ultimate in Mumbai!
Sai January 5, 2011 at 4:28 pm
should have crossed 100 million if the network was good till now.Improve network first most of Aircel customers are suffering from low signals
Arif January 5, 2011 at 4:18 pm
Very poor network in the Bombay circle.
aishu/naveen gatke January 5, 2011 at 4:12 pm
@Suman
network nahi hai tho kya pocket internet tho hai na,use it.
ANIRBAN January 5, 2011 at 4:05 pm
Yeah loh karlo baat, India ka one of the 3rd class network bhi 50 million customer bana liya.Fake activation se ya kuch aur hain?
Tagore Varma January 5, 2011 at 4:03 pm
Aircel network is poor in several areas in Hyderabad. I bought a SIM when it was launched in Hyderabad but it has no signal indoors in my area (Vijayapuri Colony, Tarnaka, Secunderabad). I threw out the SIM. After almost one-and-a-half-years, attracted by its cost-cutters, I again bought a SIM recently. Alas, there is no change in situation, with no connectivity at all indoors. Now I am using the SIM only at office. Aircell first needs to improve its network at least in big cities like Hyderabad.
S January 5, 2011 at 3:56 pm
I think Aircel will merge with Tata Teleservices (Read Tata Docomo) in the next few years. They are also in talks with each other as per Economic Times for sharing 3G infrastructure mutually. Maxis Communications which owns 74% of Aircel (along with 26% by Apollo Hospitals Enterprises by Reddy Family) is known to exit ventures, after few years with high valuations.
Pinaki Roy January 5, 2011 at 3:53 pm
Thanks AIRCEL. You are the only operator who first give us Rs.98 unlimited GPRS pack. Wish you all the best.
Suman January 5, 2011 at 3:47 pm
