WhatsApp has pushed a new beta update for Android users which takes the version number to 2.18.300. While WhatsApp did not reveal any new features officially, the new version brings along one of the much-awaited feature- Swipe to Reply. Notably, Swipe to Reply feature was present on the iOS version of WhatsApp since the day it rolled per message reply, but Android users were left behind. However, it's now possible for WhatsApp users on Android to just swipe on message and replying to it. Essentially, WhatsApp is making it easier for Android users to reply back to a message.
WhatsApp Swipe to Reply Feature: How it Works?
Last year, WhatsApp added the ability to reply to a particular message on both Android and iOS platforms. For example, users can now reply separately to a message which they want in order to avoid the confusion in the conversation. Before the arrival of Swipe to Reply, Android users had to tap on a message and hit the reply button on top of the screen to give a reply to that particular message.
However, WhatsApp has now made it a lot easier for users. If a user is looking to give a reply to a message, just swipe from left and the message will be selected. Now start typing your message and press the send icon to give a reply. This feature was earlier introduced for iOS users, thanks to iOS' gesture navigation. And it took nearly a year to roll out the same for WhatsApp for Android users.
WhatsApp Swipe to Reply Feature: How to Get it Now?
Right now, WhatsApp has rolled out the feature only to Android Beta users and after rigorous testing, it will be added to the stable version. The WhatsApp Beta for Android v 2.18.300 has this feature. Those who are already registered on the WhatsApp Beta programme can head over to Google Play Store to download the latest version and start using the feature. For the new users, there's a bad news as WhatsApp Beta programme is full at the moment. However, they can uninstall the current stable version of WhatsApp and download the latest Beta APK from Apkmirror to get the Swipe to Reply feature.
WhatsApp to Soon Integrate Ads into the Platform
In other news, the Facebook-owned WhatsApp is gearing up for the introduction of ads into the platform. At the moment, WhatsApp is an ad-free platform, which is the reason why several users prefer it over any other platform available out there. Now with the introduction of ads, WhatsApp will likely lose a lot of users thanks to privacy issues. It's rumoured that WhatsApp will insert ads into Status tab and they will appear while scrolling the statutes of your contacts.
