Uninor Adds 2.2 mn New GSM Subscribers In August

Uninor, one of the latest entrant in the Indian Telecom space has added a huge 2.2 million new subscribers in August, taking its total user base to nearly 9.1 million.

This is the highest net add in a month since the Uninor launched GSM services in last December. The August numbers place us as the third highest GSM operator pan-India in terms of net-adds.




Uninor operates only in 13 out of 22 telecom circles nationwide recently introduced the concept of "Dynamic Pricing" which offers up to 60 per cent discount on calls, company claims that it offer the best value for money proposition in the Indian GSM market.

The operator is eyeing a 8 per cent market share of the GSM mobile segment, which has over 481 million subscribers.Presently Uninor has managed to capture 1.89 per cent market share in the first nine months of its operations.

Unior has pan-India licence but is offering services in 13 circles as of now and in process to roll out services in other states also. However Uninor is yet to get spectrum for the Delhi-NCR circle.
