Telenor launches Tatkal Credit – an emergency recharge credit facility

Telenor India has now launched Tatkal Credit - an emergency recharge credit facility - for its customers in six operating circles. Using this facility, Telenor subscribers can now avail a quick loan of Rs 5 in case their phone balance falls below Rs 1.50 which can be used as talk time (10 local/STD minutes) or data browsing (20 MB).

Present at the launch of the Tatkal Credit offer; Sharad Mehrotra, Chief Executive Officer, Telenor (India) Communications said, “Telenor is loved by customers for its affordable and value-for- money services. We strive to delight them by offering easy-to- use products and simple-to- understand transparent tariff plans. Tatkal Credit is an initiative by Telenor to ensure that our mass market subscribers are never out of recharge and are always connected. We will continue to innovate and design relevant services to make our customer’s ‘life full paisa vasool’.”

Telenor customers can avail an instant credit of Rs. 5 By dialling USSD code *141# or by simply calling 121. The credit amount along with a transaction fee of Re 1 will be adjusted against the next top-up. Customers can avail this offer multiple times in a day after repayment of the previous credit in subsequent top-ups. Earlier, the company used to offer similar kind of benefits which was withdrawn a few weeks ago.

Telenor India has partnered with mCarbon to evaluate and send alerts to customers about their low phone balance. As part of the network modernisation programme, Telenor has deployed state-of- the-art business analytics software for better customer life cycle management and offer them relevant voice and data services. Along with a future ready network, Telenor customers can now enjoy the best digital services.
