Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy On8 smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor around Rs 18,000 in India. The phone will be available in 4GB/64GB storage variant and will be exclusive to Flipkart in the sub-continent. Other specifications of the smartphone include dual rear cameras, Super AMOLED display with Infinity Display branding. Also, the Galaxy On8 is the second smartphone from Samsung in the last two months to be launched as an online-exclusive phone with the first one being the Galaxy On6.

The Samsung Galaxy On8 will be available with 6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display on e-commerce major Flipkart, industry sources told IANS on Monday. "The smartphone would feature Qualcomm Snapdragon Octa-core processor," the sources added. As mentioned, this would be Samsung's second online exclusive smartphone in two months.

Earlier this month, the company launched Galaxy On6 online, which was its first "Infinity Display" mid-segment smartphone to be sold exclusively on an e-commerce platform. The Galaxy On6 was a revamped version of the Galaxy J6, which the company along with Galaxy J8 sold over 20 lakh units. It's also said that Samsung sold nearly 50,000 units of Galaxy J6 and J8 every day, which also led the company to regain the top position in the Indian Smartphone market.

On the whole, the Samsung Galaxy On8 will have a 6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display and the Snapdragon processor could be the mid-range Snapdragon 450 SoC. If Samsung goes anything below that chipset, it will be a bad move from the brand. If Samsung uses any 600 series Snapdragon SoC, then the phone will be a good option in the market. Samsung already launched two smartphones with Snapdragon 450 SoC in India- Galaxy A6 and A6+, which are retailing for over Rs 20,000 in the Indian market.
