Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio showcased its digital home digital living concept at the 4G launch event for its employees in Mumbai. The event which was held on the eve of the 83rd birth anniversary of Reliance founder chairman Shri Dhirubhai Ambani saw the strong presence of 35,000 spectators at the venue in Navi Mumbai.
The company showcased at the event its concept of Jio homes and digitally connected homes on the lines of internet of things. Jio Join is the two way tele video conference calling offering by Jio which works using your existing TV by connecting a Jio digital media console which connects to Jio home wifi network to setup the tele video conference call. Mukesh Ambani even demonstrated a live video call on the Jio network to his employees watching the event at remote locations.
Jio TV service provides Live viewing of TV channels along with cool features like voice control where the viewer can simply ask the TV to switch to another channel and through smart voice recognition technology the TV will switch to that channel without the viewer having to physically use the remote control.
Jio TV also provides catch up programing to watch missed episodes of shows within the last 7 days. There is also a continuity feature where one can pause watching live TV on the Jio TV and pick it up from there on the Jio play app on their smartphones or tablets so they can carry their entertainment even when they leave home.
Jio on demand provides a wide collection of premium Hollywood and Bollywood Movies and TV shows from Hindi, English and regional languages. All content is ad free and is viewable in superior video and audio quality. This service fills up the lack of services like Netflix and Hulu in India. Jio also demonstrated High definition multi player videogames which subscribers can play on the digital console with other players in any part of the world by connecting to the high speed home wifi network.
