Reliance Communication all set to start GSM Operation.

With the country wide launch of GSM operation Reliance has become the first operator to offer both CDMA and GSM services in India. For time being RCOM GSM services will be available to 11,000 towns and extends to 22,000 by March 2009.RCOM already runs its GSM operation in Eastern states while CDMA was available throughout the country.
Rcom has also bagged licenses to launch GSM operation in Sri Lanka and Uganda.

The good news for existing Reliance CDMA users is that they can now migrate to GSM service without changing the number from January 2009.
