MTS India, the CDMA mobile and EVDO Data service brand of Sistem Shyam Teleservices today issues Public Notice to its customers in Mumbai, Maharashtra - Goa and UP East requesting them to exhaust their balance with in 30 days and utilise mobile number portability to port out to any other operator of choice.
SSTL has also made a request to India's Department of Telecommunications (DOT) to allow continue operation for 30 days from 11th March, 2013 for enabling customers to port out from its network in these circles.
In an officail statement MTS India said, "SSTL was unable to win spectrum in Mumbai. Consequently, SSTL is constrained to withdraw its services from Mumbai, Maharashtra and UP East circles. SSTL has made a request to DOT to allow continue operation for 30 days from 11th March, 2013 for enabling customers to port out."
"MTS India's CDMA Mobile and MBlaze Data Subscribers in the Mumbai, Maharashtra and Goa and Uttar Pradesh East circles may exhaust their balance and other benefits. Subscribers can retain their existing mobile numbers and switch to new operators of their choice by going through the process of mobile number portability."
SSTL also said that it has initiated the process to inform its customers in these 3 circles about the colsure of its services through media reports, SMS’ and also through the MTS call center and website.
