Karbonn has been one of the few OEMs who have not had a wave of hype around them in terms of launching smartphones which redefine segments or get everybody's attention. It has been quietly launching a slew of smartphones in the budget segment and the latest smartphone to be launched by it is the Karbonn Aura which has just been launched for Rs 4,990.

Aura - 3D

It is one of those handsets which won't grab anybody's attention and neither has Karbonn gone the distance to make it worth a look even in the sub Rs 5,000 segment. It has a 5-inch IPS display of unspecified resolution. We are guessing it would be 800 x 480 pixels. There's a 1.2GHz quad-core processor ticking at its heart and even its make is unspecified. This would be a MediaTek unit in all likelihood. There's just 512MB of RAM for multitasking. Let us quickly run through its specifications:

Karbonn Aura specifications

  • 5-inch IPS LCD display, probably 800 x 480 pixels
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 512MB RAM
  • 8GB internal storage, expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB)
  • 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash,  2-megapixel front camera
  • Dual SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and microUSB
