BSNL Joins Jio in the List of Operators Offering 2GB Daily Data Under Rs 200

BSNL is known for launching new tariff plans with better benefits than the private telecom operators. Up until now, Reliance Jio is the only operator providing 2GB daily data plan under Rs 200, however, BSNL has now joined that list by rolling out a Rs 171 prepaid plan for its users in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana states. No other telecom service provider except for BSNL and Jio is giving 2GB data per day under Rs 200. While Jio is giving the same data benefit with its Rs 198 prepaid plan, BSNL is providing the same with its newly rolled out Rs 171 prepaid plan. In fact, BSNL is offering the Rs 171 plan for 30 days and not for 28 days like Jio and other telcos.

BSNL Now Offers 2GB Daily Data for 30 Days Under Rs 200

BSNL has launched the prepaid pack of Rs 171 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circle only which might be a drawback for the company as Jio is giving the Rs 198 plan on the pan-India basis. The telco is allowing unlimited roaming, local and STD calling in the plan with the inclusion of calling to Delhi and Mumbai users, a facility which is rarely seen on other BSNL plans. Moreover, there has been no FUP limit set on voice calling thus making this plan all the more value for money.

Moving onto the data benefit, BSNL is providing 2GB data benefit per day, which makes the total benefit for 30 days as 60GB. Lastly, users will also get 100 SMS per day for the entire validity period. On the whole, BSNL is giving unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit, 2GB data per day with no post FUP data and 100 SMS per day for a month.
Unlimited Voice Calls Even to Mumbai and Delhi Circles

Usually, BSNL doesn't provide free voice calling to users located in Mumbai and Delhi circles. None of the BSNL combo plans has the free calling option to Mumbai and Delhi users, but the Rs 171 offers unlimited voice calls to both the states, which is a good thing.

BSNL Faces Competition from Reliance Jio's Rs 198 Plan

On the flip side, we have Reliance Jio offering a Rs 198 tariff plan with benefits of 2GB data per day, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 28 days.

Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular Offer 1.4GB Data Per Day Under Rs 200

Bharti Airtel also has a Rs 199 prepaid plan, which by recharging offers the users unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit, 100 SMS per day and 1.4GB 2G/3G/4G data benefit for 28 days. So BSNL’s plan is cheaper and offers better data benefit than Jio’s and Airtel’s prepaid plans. That said, as mentioned, the plan is valid only in AP & Telangana circle. Vodafone and Idea Cellular also have a similarly priced plan of Rs 199 offering the same benefits as Airtel, but caps the voice calls to 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week.
