BSNL's target to roll out 4G in 1 lakh sites is by June 2025. After that, the state-run telecom operator will focus on rolling out 5G for customers. The 4G and 5G spectrum has been allocated to BSNL under the multiple relief packages announced by the central government in the last five years. Apart from Jio, BSNL is the only telecom operator which has access to 10 MHz of bandwidth in the 700 MHz spectrum band. This will help BSNL in achieving greater levels of network coverage.

BSNL's already testing 5G in Delhi with partners, and very soon, we may see commercial rollouts also. So far, BSNL has installed more than 60,000 4G sites across the country. The telco's goal is to deploy 1 lakh initially, and of course, more towers will be added as per the need of the consumers.
