bharti airtel first recharge coupons and activation

Bharti Airtel, India's second-largest telecom operator, has several first recharge coupons. Gone are the days when users had to recharge with only selective prepaid plans to get their SIM activated. First Recharge Coupons (FRCs) are basically prepaid plans with which you can active the services on your SIM cards. It is not something that telcos actively post a lot about. Especially today, when almost every plan is a first recharge coupon at the end of day. Airtel has said that to active SIM card services, users just need to recharge with a voucher that costs Rs 128 or more. If this condition is met, then the SIM will be activated.

If one pays attention to the mobile tariffs, Airtel's minimum recharge plan costs Rs 199. So the SIM will be activated anyhow. So what happens in a scenario where the customer doesn't recharge his/her SIM card at all? Here are the deactivation rules for Airtel SIM card in 2025.

After the 90 days, Airtel will offer customers 15 days of grace period, under which users can recharge with a necessary plan to activate services on their SIM. The customer can then pay Rs 20 to get back access to the SIM during the grace period. If there's enough balance in the account, then Airtel will keep charging Rs 20 every 30 days for the user to keep the number.
