DOT panel to follow Febuary 2014 model for upcoming auction

Department of Telecommunications (DOT) panel has decided to follow same method used in last February auction for determining the base price of the spectrum for next round of auction. Earlier Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had recommended a base price 10% higher than what it had received in the last auction. DOT rejects proposal for E-GSM on 800 MHz CDMA band, What it means to CDMA and GSM Operators?

Department of Telecommunications (DOT) has rejected the proposal of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to create extended-GSM by splitting the 800 MHz CDMA spectrum. Kerala to lease out government office premises to Reliance Jio

Telecom Commission to meet on November 7th to discuss on next spectrum auction

Telecom Commission will meet on November 7th to discuss the upcoming spectrum auction. The commission will also discuss on National Optical Fibre Network project and indoor wireless telephony. Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and Reliance have sent a joint letter to the Telecommunication Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting to postpone the next spectrum auction till sufficient spectrum across bands are available for sale. Reliance Jio cleared for laying cable in Trivandrum, Kerala

Reliance Jio has finally got clearance to lay cables and install towers in Trivandrum, Kerala. Couple of days ago we reported that Reliance Jio will be launching 4G services in Kerala by December 28.
