BSNL orders all circle and district heads to secure Wi-Fi hotspots

State-run telecom operator BSNL has ordered all circles and districts to ensure that their Wi-Fi hotspots in the de-licensed band are secured. BSNL is currently working on setting up 40,000 Wi-Fi Hotspots in the country to counter its inadequacy in providing 4G data services. Transparent broadband services: Last date to file counter comments to TRAI

On January 20th,2016 Trai came up with a consultation paper named "Draft Direction under section 13, read with clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 11, of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India Act, 1997 (24 of 1997) to service providers for delivering broadband services in a transparent manner by providing adequate information to broadband consumers". Net Neutrality: Facebook kills Free Basics in India

Social networking major Facebook has finally discontinued its controversial Free Basics from India following the Trai’s recent regulation that barred discriminatory pricing of data services.
