The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is one of the much-awaited smartphones because of its predecessor Zenfone Max Pro M1. Ever since Asus Indonesia announced that it would be launching the Max Pro M2 on December 11, rumours have been floating on the web with specifications of the handset. Earlier today, Asus Indonesia released a render of the handset which confirmed the presence of the notch. But the render also suggested that the phone will have triple cameras on the back, which seems to be not the case. An array of images of Zenfone Max Pro M2 have now leaked on the web revealing the complete design of the handset along with camera specifications. These images seem to have taken from a pre-briefing event, so it could be accurate information.
No Triple Cameras on the Zenfone Max Pro M2
Everyone got excited when today's official render of the Max Pro M2 was posted online because it looked like the phone has three cameras on the back. That's not the case. The newly leaked images suggest that the Max Pro M2 will have dual cameras on the rear side- like the Zenfone Max M1 and the cameras will be vertically stacked. The dual-tone LED flash will be followed by the two camera modules.
Moving onto the camera specifications, the Max Pro M2 will have a 12MP shooter on the back which works in tandem with a 5MP depth sensor. The 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor will feature 6P lens, f/1.8 aperture, 1.25um pixels, Phase Detection Autofocus and Electronic Images Stabilisation support.
As you might be aware of by now, the Max Pro M2 will have a notch on the front which houses the proximity sensor, LED flash and the 13MP front-facing camera.
Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 Likely to Feature Glass Body
As you can see in the images, the back of the Zenfone Max Pro M2 is reflective which means that Asus must've used glass. Otherwise, the phone will have a glossy plastic exterior. Given that the Max Pro M2 is a mid-range smartphone, we may not see the Taiwanese company going with the plastic body for the handset. So we might be seeing another smartphone with glass back incoming very soon.
The back of the phone also houses the fingerprint scanner along with Asus branding. Closely observing these images, you can spot the stock Android features such as the status bar icons and clock on the lockscreen. Like its predecessor, the Max Pro M2 could run stock Android out of the box and not the company's ZenUI. The power and volume rockers are placed on the right side.
Having said that, this could be our first look at the Zenfone Max Pro M2. It's said to come with Snapdragon 660 SoC and so far it seems like we have an exciting mid-range handset coming up.
