Bharti Airtel (“Airtel”), India’s largest telecommunications services provider, started offering a 50% data back offer for the students of Manipal University using Airtel Hangout app to connect to Wi-Fi zones across the campus. This enables high speed data access for students and allows them to do much more online with their existing Airtel packs/plans.

Students can download the Hangout app from Android or iOS store. Upon installation of the app, users will have to validate their phone numbers to start the session on Airtel Hangout following which it will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network.

Users will just need to have an activated Airtel 3G/4G pack/plan, since their Wi-Fi data consumption will be charged from this pack/plan.

Airtel customers can download the Hangout app free from Android or iOS store and seamlessly latch on to the network in these zones to experience faster internet speeds. On the installation of the app, a customer will have to validate his/her phone number to start the session on Airtel Hangout.

Once validated, every time the customer is near an Airtel Wi-Fi zone, he will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi network if he has given his consent to auto connect else he will get notified about the Wi-Fi network and he can connect to the network manually.

Customers can make these necessary settings under the app preference settings. Airtel customers will just need to have an activated Airtel 3G/4G pack/plan since the Wi-Fi data consumption will be charged from this pack/plan.
