Bharti Airtel has taken a series of measures to ensure uninterrupted connectivity for its customers as millions of pilgrims and devotees attend the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. On Monday, Airtel announced that it had installed 287 new mobile sites, optimised over 340 existing ones, and laid 74 kilometres of fibre to enhance mobile network coverage across the city.

Mobile Connectivity at the Kumbh Mela

To address the connectivity needs within the vast Kumbh Mela grounds, which span several kilometres, Airtel has deployed 78 Cell on Wheels (COW) and ensured coverage in high-traffic areas across the city.

Coverage Beyond the Mela

Airtel's network enhancements extend beyond the Mela grounds, covering highways, railway stations, airports, hotels, and other high-traffic areas across Prayagraj, according to the company.

Emergency Response Preparedness

Airtel has also established 3 war rooms in Jhusi, Arail, and Sangam areas for rapid response in case of network issues. The company's disaster management team is equipped with essential resources, including extra generators, diesel, and critical equipment, to ensure rapid response in case of any network exigencies.

Crowd Management Support

In collaboration with the Prayagraj Traffic Police, Airtel said it has set up over 780 kiosks at key entry and exit points to assist devotees, offering safety instructions and crowd management support. These efforts aim to ensure smooth navigation for the millions attending the mega event.
