Xiaomi seems to be already working on the flagship smartphone: the Xiaomi Mi 7 as the complete specifications and pricing of the device leaked out today. The Mi 7 will be Xiaomi's first flagship smartphone for 2018, and it will succeed the Xiaomi Mi 6, which never arrived in India.
In recent times, several rumours were citing that the Mi 7 will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. And as per the new report from MyDrivers, the Mi 7 will come with Snapdragon 845 SoC itself, coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM.
Like the 2017 flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi Mi 7 will flaunt a 6.01-inch 18:9 OLED display, which will be manufactured by Samsung. That said, the resolution of the display is unknown at the moment, but most likely, it could be a Full HD+ panel.
The usage of an 18:9 display means Xiaomi has to make a tough decision of placing the fingerprint sensor at the back of the phone. And the report suggests the same, the Mi 7 will come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
After Apple releasing the iPhone X with its TrueDepth Facial recognition technology, every Android OEM is reportedly working on their own unique technology to win the battle against the Cupertino giant. That said, Xiaomi is one among them as the company is allegedly working on a 3D Face Recognition technology. This was reported earlier, but as per today's report, the Xiaomi Mi 7 doesn't feature any 3D Face Recognition technology, sadly.
Optics wise, the Mi 7 might come with two 16MP sensors at the back of the phone with f/1.7 aperture. Having said that, the Mi 7 may not feature telephoto lens. Instead, it might come with a low-light sensor or a monochrome sensor like the OnePlus 5T or Huawei P10.
Battery capacity on the Mi 7 is also said to be same at 3350mAh, and will also feature fast charging. As stated earlier, the pricing of the Xiaomi Mi 7 is leaked as well. The Mi 7 will cost RMB 2699, which translates to Rs. 26,500 for the base variant. Sadly, this report did not reveal when Xiaomi is planning to launch the smartphone. To recall, the Mi 6 arrived in April 2017, thanks to Samsung for taking up all the initial stock of the Snapdragon 835 chipset. Hopefully, Samsung allows Xiaomi to launch the Mi 7 at the MWC 2018 floor.
