After Chinese brands such as the Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo getting a considerable market share in the country, the ZTE-owned Nubia is now looking to mark its name in the country. Nubia made its way to India in 2015 and had been touting all its phones as camera-centric ones, but used to launch one phone for every six months.
In recent times, the company is on a launch spree. In December 2016, Nubia launched two new smartphones- Nubia Z11 and Nubia N1. While the Z11 competed against the OnePlus 3T, the N1 was aimed at entry-level big battery smartphone. Earlier this month, Nubia also launched the M2 Lite in India for Rs. 13,999.
The company is now teasing a new smartphone's launch in India as “Let there be Lite!," and it maybe the Nubia N1 Lite smartphone launched back at the MWC 2017 event in February. Same as the case with other Nubia smartphones launched in India, the N1 Lite is also touted as a camera smartphone. The N1 Lite features a 5MP front-facing camera with LED flash, which is a wide-angle sensor that can capture images of 84-degree.
At the back, there's an 8MP sensor aided with a dual tone LED flash module. It also has a fingerprint sensor below the camera module. Up front, there's a 5.5-inch HD screen with no mentioning of a protective layer on display.
A 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chipset powers the device along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The Mali-T720 GPU will take care of the graphics in the phone. The N1 Lite has connectivity options such as the 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB OTG.
This dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Nubia UI on top. It will be harsh if we expect Android updates from Nubia. The entire package is armed with a 3000mAh battery.
The smartphone will be announced in India on May 22. Nubia should price the device aggressively, maybe at Rs. 7,999 considering the fact that it has just 2GB of RAM and a small 3000mAh battery.
