Idea Cellular pulls out its postpaid combo plans : Rs 899, Rs 1299, and Rs 1599

Idea Cellular has withdrawn three of its most popular postpaid combo plans of Rs. 899, Rs.1299, and Rs.1599. The combo plans offered bundled benefits of voice calls (local/STD) to any network, local and National SMSes, and 3G data usage.

Postpaid combo plan Rs.899 offered 4,000 Local/STD calls to any network, 100 national roaming mobile minutes (incoming and outgoing) and 450 SMSes. While combo plan Rs.1299 offered 4,000 local/STD + 1,000 roaming mobile mins + 450 local/national SMSes and 5 GB of 3G data. The the third plan which costs Rs.1599/month offered 10,000 local + STD + national roaming mobile minutes and 1,000 local + national SMSes, and 8 GB 3G data usage.

The postpaid combo plans were introduced by the operator three years back to take on Reliance Communications and Tata Docomo who offered similar high-end postpaid combo plans.

With the introduction of more flexible easy share postpaid plans and users moving towards more data-centric plans, the combo plans offering have become less attractive.
