It’s evident from the mergers and acquisitions happening in the telecom industry that every incumbent operator is feeling the heat of predatory plans offered by Jio. Every telecom operator is trying to lure customers by offering juicy recharge plans. Going forward the quality of service along with cost-effective pricing will play an important role in deciding the champion of the race.
Jio has recently launched five new addon Voice Combos. The voice plus data packs priced at Rs.11, Rs.51, Rs.91, and Rs.201 and Rs.301. Rs.11 pack offers 100MB of data with 35 minutes of calling. The Rs.51 pack offers 1GB of data with 175 minutes of calling. The Rs.91 pack offers 2GB with 325 minutes of the call. Rs.201 voice combo gives 5GB data with 725 minutes of call and Rs.301 gives 10GB plus 1000 minutes of the call. All of these voice combo packs will have validity same as that of the existing plan on the subscriber’s number. The data booster packs have been re-designed taking care of every type of user. For heavy data users Jio has 10GB data pack and for users having usage just a bit over 1GB per day Rs.51 pack will be sufficient.

Earlier Jio had only data addon packs. But now Jio has redesigned the existing data add-on packs with free limited talk time too. It’s strange that the network which boasts of free calls has put a limitation on the call usage in the addon packs. It can be construed as the reaction of the cheap plans provided by the telco.
We hope to see even better plans from Jio in coming days. Jio has already guaranteed that it will offer 20% more data than its competitor always. We expect that Jio will launch more postpaid plans for a greater share in the telecom market. As of today, Jio has only five postpaid plans of Rs.309, Rs.349, Rs.399, Rs.509, and Rs.999.
