First of all it is hard to find a micro sim, luckily I could get hold of one… Unfortunately that micro sim won’t activate somehow I do not know why, either dealer is not charging it with correct FRC or the sim is plain expired.. They even tried a swap but it did not work..
Presently using a 3G dongle data sim for iPad2 with erratic performance, works fine at night day time even tortoise will win…

Yesterday I took a Tatadocomo micro sim and recharged 48.00 rs data recharge to activate Internet in my ipad2
But still it is not working . Mobile data saving is taking too much time. What is the solution?

@rajeev
Use tatadocomo3g under APN Settings. And leave username and password blank. If it dowsnot work try to put your sim card as username and leave password blank.
APN Settings can be found at Settings > Cellular Data.

Tata docomo is real smart. They don’t want to give freedom to the consumers. I bought a regular 3G sim last week for my iPad. Customized it to work with the micro sim adapter. Per customer care my 3 g services are activated but they won’t let me use on iPad. Ipad only detects edge network on the sim. The sim is working fine on a mobile device. Why should I purchase a micro sim and shell out Rs 500 wherein I can easily manage within 350 recharge.

Thanks for the reply, I usually use Tata docomo in different cities since i usuall travel a lot.
The places where i have used TATA DOCOMO 2.5G internet & found slow speed are
Bangalore: Domlur layout(EGL), Banashankari 2nd Stage, BTM LAyout, Silkboard.
Hubli: Vidyanagae,Akashay colony.
The speed will be within 6-7KB/s (48-54kbps)
Handset used: Nokia E52 (EDGE class 32)
Samsung s-5350(EDGE Class 10)

@TATA DOCOMO
The problem lies within him itslf. so my advice is dont waste ur time on such people who are not worth to the company.
i have used tata docomo in karnataka, except poor GPRS speed all other services like voice quality, connectivity, coverage etc are good.

@Arjun Chandrashel, Can we know your exact concern to sort this out?

@Arup

DOCOMO Is Just a Big Waste Product Even If I View The Coverage Map of Docomo Their Network is Worst. Even It’s a Big Buck Of Karnataka, You Can’t Able To Access Docomo Signals Even If You are at Docomo Tower. Idea, AirTel, Vodafone, Aircel, Uninor, Reliance,BSNL are Accessible In Indoors.

You can get 3G speed in 2G pack(Only browsing not downloading in PC Or Download in Mobile using Opera mobile or UCWEB Browser)
1.Keep balance below 10
2.Dial *141# and Activate Rs.11 3G Pack.
3.You will get message about insufficient balance.Just ignore it, connect and see.you will get 3g speed.
Jan June 4, 2011 at 1:41 pm
Yes you are right..
While in 3G mode the speed is around 120-140 kbps and while in 2G mode its just 80-90 kbps….
only benefit is that we get 2GB at Rs. 48….
emad June 4, 2011 at 1:30 pm
due to data cap of 128 kbps docomo 2g customers never go beyond 16kbps dl speed even with 3g coverage and worst speed in edge area is their destiny due to this cap
rajiev June 4, 2011 at 12:04 pm
what is the size of the sim?
Arup June 4, 2011 at 11:36 am
About a year ago my first choice was docomo from every side{SMS plans,call tariffs,
gprs speed(all time 40 KBps dwnld speed) and plans}.but now a days when docomo just go to hell,gprs speed is too too bad(dwnld speed 10 KBps),network signal is increasing,decreasing all day.
DOCOMO please try to improve your quality.

If it is possible to use Tata Docomo’s Micro SIM card with iPhone 4 [if it is feasible with iPad it should be feasible with iPhone 4 also, from technical point of view Aircel has a different APN for iPhone 4], then Tata Docomo’s UNLIMITED DATA PLANS although with speed restrictions, combined with their value for money voice plans should be an attractive option
Is it a well thought out strategy to kill competition’s [Airtel and Aircel] bundled iPhone 4 data plans?
Emad June 3, 2011 at 9:44 pm
do u got iPad sim of bsnl?? is’nt it like a buried Khazana in an unknown place?
Rohan Singh June 3, 2011 at 9:25 pm
BSNL’s unlimited ipad plan has no limit on speed and rate is also same. Then BSNL is good.
Aircel launched a new GPRS pack for 48Rs/month with 1GB.
