    Photon Plus even though it generally claims to give speed upto 3.1 Mbps it generally gives speed of .3-.4 Mbps…at the same time it is very reliable unlike BSNL 3G..which is not reliable at all..but TATA giving a speed of 10% of what they promise…is not acceptable…only Mukesh Ambani can herald a revolution in India..waiting for 4G and expecting to have at least 40% of peak speed..then only telecom companies can change,,

    I took a 3G sim for 59..did the first recharge coupon of 120..and then further recharged by 750 in an impression that I will get 5 GB of data…to my astonishment I got total data validity of approx. 13 GB…I am still unable to do the mathematics of it…today somehow being an exception 3 G seldom works on Saturdays and Sundays..so the services are not reliable even on weekdays though generally able to connect..and I can see 3G tower from my window…

    mansoor Ahmed :
    now they are coming almost same to the Broadband Tariff plans,this BSNL Tariff if cheap if you compare to Airtel Broadband 649, for refer ( http://www.airtel.in/wps/wcm/connect/airtel.in/airtel.in/home/forme_newuser/broadband+and+fixed+Line/broadband/tariffs/ ). Also let the 3G services be provided in following rate:-
    1 GB Pack for Rs 150.
    2 GB Pack for Rs 300.
    3 GB Pack for Rs 450.
    4 GB pack for Rs 600.
    This would be a Better pricing Strategy as of now till the Customer get the Cheap 3G Services or 4G services.
    instead of getting 1 Single Customer of 5 GB Usage, they can get 5 Customer of 1 GB usage.

    one thing you remember that you get airtel broadband in city are only.

    @arunkavi

    U R right… I’m also getting the same speed. But this speed will get only in phones which can support WCDMA/HSDPA(High Speed Downlink Packet Access) which results high consumption of battery. We will not get the same speed in Edge or GPRS.

    BSNL has returned BWA spectrum for 9 circles to DoT and telecom ministry is ready to auction 1 slot in 20MHz band of BWA spectrum on Pan-India basis. Govt. will pay back 80-90% of the amount it receive from auction to BSNL. DoT expecting Rs.13000+ crore from the auction. It is also said that BSNL will return spectrum in other 11 circles also. Good move by BSNL.

    Hope Govt. bring in exit policy for 2G/3G spectrum also in NTP and players like Etisalat, Loop holding Pan-India 2G licenses can exit and also S-Tel(holding 3G spectrum in 3 C-category circles) and facing credit crunch can surrender it and re-auction of it help other telcos.

    But BSNL provide very poor 3G speed as compare to other 3G private operators, it is my personal experience.

    Bsnl’s 3G downloading speed is satisfactory but uploading speed is horrible slow.

    BSNL revised data plans in September but Idea Cellular was giving double data benefits from July, 2011. Even Reliance triple benefit was announced days before this revision by BSNL though plans got updated on websites later. So they didn’t followed BSNL. It was BSNL who followed them.

    BTW plans are still out of reach and BSNL 3G is still not present in my town.
