MTS India is all set to roll out its CDMA Mobile Service with a scheme of one million minutes of free talk in Kolkata & WestBengal. We brought you some exclusive details regarding the MTS Mobile service launching in Kolkata. A Month back MTS opening up its CDMA Mobile services in TamilNadu-Chennai and Kerala telecom circle with a bash, Today MTS announced that its CDMA-based mobile services in Kolkata Metro circle will be in launched in next few days. Customer care number for MTS Kolkata will 9153155155 and 155 from MTS.
Vsevolod Rozanov CEO Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd (MTS India) said to the media that “We will be present in Kolkata in the second quarter of 2009 (April-June) and company all set to launch its CDMA Mobile service in Kolkata & West Bengal. The people of West Bengal are known for their aptitude, brilliance and even their communication skills are unsurpassed. The Bengali language itself is considered the ‘sweetest’ in sound from among all other. And very soon, MTS too will speak in this intrinsically clever yet curiously soft tongue.
In Delhi and Mumbai, we will be present by the end of the year 2009. Besides these, we will be present in some other (telecom) circles also. To be on the safe side, we should be in minimum six or eight more circles by the end of this calendar year. The rest of the circles within the first two or three quarters of the (next) calendar year.”On the network technology Mr.Rozanov point out that “We do not believe there is that much of a difference between GSM (global system for mobile communications) and CDMA (code division multiple access). Customers using CDMA technology are approximately one quarter of all. Given the size of the Indian market, this is not small at all.
We have been looking into whether we should wait until we are fully ready with CDMA data offerings or we should start building our customer base and deliver our data offers a bit later. We decided to go in for the second option. We will be coming out with the data offering closer to the end of May or June.
MTS India will offer the same tariff plan for Kolkata as they offering in Chennai-Tamilnadu & Kerala, a scheme of one million minutes of free talk time to its customers with a limit of 150 minutes usage everyday, Call Charges local MTS-to-MTS calls will be charged at 35 paisa per minute; MTS-to-non MTS calls and calls to landlines will cost 70 paisa per minute. STD calls will cost Rs.1.40 per minute.Local SMS (on all networks) will cost subscribers 50 paisa per SMS, while international messages will cost Rs.5 per SMS.

MTS LAUNCHED MOBILE SERVICE IN KOLKATA , under this heading on this page you have shown Howrah bridge and ganges which connects Kolkata to Howrah.You have put up signages at important locations in kolkata but do not forget to book huge solo signages on the shores of water transportation ferry service where approx there 2 to 2.5 lakh footfalls daily and above all there is no pollution,jam,sweat,prossesions of red and green companies…………. I do not know whom to approach in your company as we are the company owing the rights of outdoor publicity at these lucrative spots.

The MTS offer is not so good…only time will tell if they are accepted by Calcuttans or not..Reliance(CDMA),Tata Indicom,BSNL,Virgin(Virgin(part of tata) is doing very well specially relinace and then tata….it would be a tough market for MTS considering dominating GSM players like BSNL,Airtel,Vodafone,Aircel to crack the nut
