BSNL Expands Its 3G Mobile Service Network in Tamilnadu
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today expands its 3G coverage in the state of Tamilnadu by launching much awaited 3G mobile services in the business city Coimbatore, tourist hot spot Ooty, and Coonoor, which comes under Tamil Nadu telecom circle with lowest Video and Voice tariff plans.
The BSNL’s 3G mobile service includes Video calling, High Speed Internet connectivity up to 3.1 mbps, Multimedia services such as sharing of digital photos and movies via wireless means including Live TV,Videos and Music downloads, Real-time multilayer gaming.It will also allow the users to install fring or skype on the Mobile Phone and make Free voice plus video calls to other mobiles having Fring or Skype anywhere in the world.
According to the BSNL “The total capacity addition planned under Phase I is 23 lakh lines, of which 19 lakh is for 2G EDGE services and four lakh lines for 3G. The total expenditure involved is approximately Rs 1000 crore including Rs 130 crore for 3G.With In the first phase, the BSNL Tamil Nadu circle is set to have 3,262 all new cell sites (Mobile Towers) in addition to the 3,124 sites already present. 1,119 sites out of these will be for 3G services and 2,143 for 2.5G services.
Recenlty BSNL wrapped more than 300 cities with its 3G mobile and Broadband Data service Network in various telcom circles and enrolled more than 7.50 Lakh 3G subscribers.Now the operator also geared up covering all the district headquarters and major towns across India. BSNL is the only service provider to procure the license to operate 3G services in India except Mumbai and Delhi region.

100% true the average BSNL employees is 48 years over, in c and D group most of them are landline based experienced workers, no value for I.T related works.. already 50% of JTO level officers are drawn from BE graduates, who are the backbone of present BB, Mobile network.. in Two years you will see the New Telecom company, as more than 1 lakh workers are going to be shifted to another company (which main aim is to lay Fibre optic cables through Pan India and rent it to Telecom players as well as built the communication network for the military inlieu of Spectrum vacated by them. another one lakh is going to retire in two years/by VRS.. So young blood will prove more teeth to the refurbished company…

Aircel provides free internet for Rs.14 for three days but the pitiest thing is that the performance is worst, i suggest they can charge more and give better service.
