India’s largest Mobile Service operator Airtel today flags off its 3G Mobile and Data services in Chennai and Coimbatore city (Chennai Metro and Tamilnadu telecom circle). The telecos also said that it will launch the 3G services in more than 40 cities across all 13 circles by March 2011.
For convenience of prospective 3G Mobile and High Speed Data service users, there is no changes for Voice and SMS tariff and it will be charged as Airtel’s 2G GSM Plan and customer can clubbed any 3G data plans as their needs and suitability.The 3G local, STD and Roaming Video Call cost will be 5 paisa/sec (Rs.3/minute).
The Airtel 3G Mobile Service was launched by Mr. Atul Bindal, President, Mobile Services- Bharti Airtel in the presence of Mr. Vineet Taneja Operations Director-South in an launch function held at Hotel ITC park Sheraton in Chennai.
Speaking on the launch of 3G services Mr. Atul Bindal said “Today, as we introduce the airtel 3G promise in Chennai and Coimbatore – we are delighted to bring the power of the mobile Internet deeper south. A new era begins for Tamil Nadu’s mobile phone users, with high-speed Internet, better access to data services including mCommerce, social networking and mHealth in a robust ecosystem of affordable 3G-ready handsets and a range of applications at affordable prices. We are happy to give one more reason for all mobile users across Tamil Nadu to join India’s network – airtel”.

I BOUGHT AIRTEL 3G IN CHENNAI. IN CHENNAI, MY AREA IS NOT HAVING 3G SERVICE, HERE ONLY 2G SERVICE. IT WAS VERY WORST SERVICE. THEY GOT MONEY FOR 3G AND PROVIDING 2G AT VERY WORST SIGNALS. CUSTOMER CARE PEOPLE DOES NOT RESPOND FOR THIS CONDITION.

I have purchased an Airtel 3G data card on 29/06/2012 and submitted my below
proof for activation , Till today it was not activated, and the Response of the
workers are very bad
no i have the instrument and nothing to do with that , i have wasted 1200
rupees

Proof Provided = Voter ID,PAN card, Aaadhar Card, Driving License
Till now nobody called from the office , Don’t what Airtel wants me to do
Nobody from the customer care is responding for this

It seems AIRTEL started it 3G service in Chennai.. today i got the service at 12pm onwards and the signal strength is constant…

BSNL network is good!! But unfortunately i believe it does not have a SMS booster pack like other networks have!!
Most of the college students prefer to SMS rather than talk and i believe it’s a costly affair in case of BSNL!!!

BSNL 3G is infinite times more better and ECONOMICAL than 3G in all private operators. All private operators have put 3G to SUICIDE which is called 3G SUICIDE and not 3G life.

Vodafone does not have 3G license in Kerala. BSNL,Idea,Tata Docomo & Aircel are the 3G operators in Kerala

no they cann”t…………..as in KERALA CIRCLE THERE ARE THREE LICENSE HOLDER NAMELY…..AIRCEL,IDEA, VODAFONE………SO NO AIRTEL FOR NOW AND ABOVE ALL YOU SHOULD GIVE A TRY TO BSNL 3G IT IS AFFORDABLE AND HAVING PAN INDIA PRESENCE YOU CAN GET AS LOW AS RS 700 UL SCHEME …………

They are very costly, in BSNl excess usage costs 1p/10kB (Rs.1/MB) airtel 30p/20 kB (Rs.15/MB).
